COVID 19 RISK ASSESSMENT

Covid 19 is a new virus for which there is currently no immunisation. It causes the condition known as Coronavirus, which is a respiratory illness that affects your airways and lungs. Symptoms can be mild, moderate, severe or fatal.

What are the hazards?

Spread of Coronavirus.

Who might it affect?

Delegates, trainers, conference facility staff, cleaners, vulnerable groups eg elderly, pregnant or those with underlying health conditions, black and minority ethnic people. Anyone else who comes into contact with anyone attending courses provided by Vision Primary Care Training Ltd.

Controls Required

Hand washing – delegates will be reminded to wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and water regularly throughout the day, using disposable towels for drying.

Hand sanitizers and wipes will be available too.

Tissues will be available to catch any coughs, sneezes etc and we will promote the ‘Catch it, Kill it, Bin it’ ethos.

The cleanliness of the premises where the course is to be held, will be the responsibility of the proprietor.

Equipment – Vision Primary Care Training Ltd will provide handouts, which will have been prepared 10 days before the course commencement, packed into plastic box and sealed. Delegates must bring their own A4 folder to keep course notes inside.

Pens and paper for notes – delegates will need to bring their own with them and not share with other course members.

Drinks and food – For some courses, a packed lunch and drinks will be supplied by the venue as per their Covid Risk Assessment. At other venues you may be asked to provide your own food and drinks for the day. Please read the joining instructions carefully.

Social distancing – a two meter distance must be kept at all times throughout the course. Everyone attending must bring with them a facemask for any unplanned event eg emergency situation or where you maybe required to wear it in communal areas, corridors etc.

Register of attendees – all delegates will be required to confirm their place of work, email address and telephone number in the event of contact tracing being required.

We will try our best to ensure your safety. It is your responsibility to inform us if you are not able to attend any course. Do not attend if you have any symptoms of the virus as per Government Guidelines on Covid 19 (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/) or you have been asked to self isolate
